Review: Evidence Of An Affair By Taylor Jenkins Reid

Author of Daisy Jones & The Six or The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo (TSHOEH) released The Evidence Of an Affair for free on Amazon (Prime members only). Book Pub Review had never read any of her books despite hearing alot about TSHOEH. Much to our surprise, after picking it up after some time from the tbr pile it was surprising to see how short the story was. It was more thought of as a woman who suspected her husband and follows him or something. When actually, it was a letter between Carrie and David who discuss their spouses affair. Now they start to see the differences in changes between their marraiges.

Carrie, lives in California. We praise her for the bravery that she has built up in order to tell David about the affair. They continue to write to one another about the affair between their spouces. At first, there was much question to why she wrote this short story. If that’s what you call it. Once you began to find out about the lives behind the actual point of the letter you became empathetic, especially towards David. It felt like Carrie was living a different world by almost denying the fact that things weren’t right but her sending the letters made you realise that she actually was trying to live on from this fiasco. When you felt like Carrie was the strongest, you realised that David was finding this but it was relied upon through the letters. It isn’t a nice situation for anyone.

The book was good for breezing through. There is not much to say about it therefore this one will be short and sweet too…
